In the Master Key Experience this week, we have been focusing on kindness in action. There are people in the program from all over the world and everyone of us are doing this together. We are both giving and receiving acts of kindness all week.
If we look closely, we see humanity at its best. We are all putting kindness into action and that connects us all. Let’s see if we can prove that kindness can change the world.
“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees”. Amelia Earhart
In Australia where bushfires continue to ravage the wildlife habitat of the country, there are many acts of kindness showing up in support of the victims of the natural calamity. One story that stood out about kindness was a Sikh woman who cancelled her trip back to India to cook meals for the Australian bushfire victims.
35-year-old Sukhwinder Kaur was all set to go back to India after receiving news of her sister suffering a stroke. However, she decided to stay back in Melbourne and now cooks more than 1,000 meals a day for families who were forced to flee after their houses were set ablaze. She is preparing food three times a day around 400 meals.
“I realised my first duty is towards the community here where I have lived for so long. If I had left the people here during such a difficult time, I don’t think I could call myself a good human being. This is my family too and I have a responsibility towards it. I just can’t go while my family is suffering,” Sukhwinder said.
“No act of kindness is too small. The gift of kindness may start as a small ripple that over time can turn into a tidal wave affecting the lives of many.” Kevin Heath
In Toronto, Ontario there is a charity that offers a welcoming environment and sacred space for participants and volunteers to develop life skills, creativity, care for the environment and spiritual growth. One participant said, “They show me kindness, every time. They teach me sewing. They welcome me and help me feel good again.”
Last year a nursing home went out of business and when a real estate agent heard about this charity, she arranged to have all sorts of items that might have been trashed to be sent to this charity. The charity was overwhelmed by her kindness and said it was going to help so many people have a good Christmas that year. It took 16 volunteers to sort through everything and find homes for it all.
There is goodness flowing through us and it is up to us to share. When we focus on kindness, we see all the good in the world. I personally have been blown away by all the kindnesses I have both given and received this week. Let’s see if we can spread this far and wide and keep it going for more than a week.
To your success.
Charlene
Kindness is so wonderful. Like you say, it spread like fire. All we need to do is give kindness, and respond when people give us kindness, and the world becomes a better place. Great post, let us spread the word.
Yes I agree, let’s spread the word.

Hi Charlene!
What a beautiful post! It is a kind and uplifting comment about kindness, how you have been experiencing and how we can see it in others everyday across the globe. Just beautiful! It serves as a reminder that we only have to focus a little bit to notice it everywhere. I’m on your side of the table, let’s keep it going for more than a week!

Thank you. Yes I am keeping it going.
You are such a blessing, Charlene, it is your kindness you are sharing in this blog with great examples and stories as you inspire those who read. It is also like a seed planted in people’s lives that will grow and blossom in due time so sometime we might not even see the impact right away for the “one little act of kindness” we share as we move through our lives. Thank you!
Thank you.
