The Master Key journey continues. This week we were introduced to Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Essay on Compensation. Compensation in the dictionary means something, typically money, awarded to someone as a recompense for loss, injury, or suffering. Emerson took this essay into the realm of the many Universal Laws specifically the Law of Compensation.

In The 30 Laws of Flow, I say, “The Law of Compensation is the visible effects of your deeds.” Emerson says that The Law of Compensation is the law of laws.

Just like there are Natural Laws that govern nature (such as gravity), there are other Laws which govern all that happens in the universe. From the spiritual to the physical to the mental, everything that happens does so according to Law.

Each system has its own set of laws. The Universe around us is a very orderly place in which nothing occurs by chance. The Universal Laws are predictable and repeatable.

Even though we cannot see the Laws, or hear them, smell them or taste them, they are present. They apply to everything and everyone – nothing is exempt. Even when we do not know about the laws, even when we do not call them Universal Laws, we still use these universal principles.

People who accomplish their ideals are cooperating with the Universal Laws whether they know it or not because the truth always prevails.

All laws fall under the one great law namely “Energy is.” At the microscopic level, we are a whirling mass of electrons and energy atoms spinning rapidly. In fact, everything in the world is comprised of energy and we are intimately connected with this sea of energy, this sea of whirling electrons.

Our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions are all forms of energy. What we think, feel, say, and do in each moment comes back to us to create our realities. Energy moves in a circle, so what goes around comes around. (Law of Compensation) The combined thoughts, feelings, words and actions of everyone on the planet creates our collective consciousness, it creates the world we see before us.

The exciting news is, because our thoughts, feelings, words and actions create the world around us, we have the power to create a world of peace, harmony and abundance. In order to do this, it is essential that we learn to control our thoughts and emotions. Understanding the Universal Laws help us to do this.

Emerson is saying in his essay that when we don’t understand and/or live in harmony with the Law of Cause and Effect, Oneness, Attraction, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Perpetual Transmutation of Energy, Reciprocity, Self Knowledge, Correspondence, etc., we will suffer as those laws are not biased and are fixed and they operate despite our ignorance.

This Law of Compensation is also known as The Law of Cause and Effect, or The Law of Karma. The best way we can define compensation is what we put our time and effort into is going to result in us getting something back from the universe. To improve our lives, we must first focus on and improve ourselves.

As Emerson says in his Compensation essay, “Every act rewards itself.” What is the one thing in life that absolutely excites you? If you have something that you really love to do, chances are you’re going to put an abundance of time into it. The more time you put into it, the more likely you’re going to be able to give and receive something back from the universe.

“As you sow, so shall you reap” is the saying of this law. So, there you have the Law of Compensation, one of the most important laws in the Master Key journey.

To your success.
