Success Habits – Determination

First of all, you have to define success for yourself. Where do you want success? What aspect of your life? Once you have a goal in mind, then apply the success habits that will take you to your success.

This will be a series as there are many success habits that can be applied. You see we already have habits and many of them are not really good habits. The way it works is that the bad habit needs to be replaced by a good habit.

So, let’s address determination as a success habit. I have studied successful entrepreneurs and they all had certain characteristics in common.

For example, I noticed their determination showed up when developing habits such as utilizing their unique ability and delegating the rest, continuous learning, regular goal setting with set outcomes, focus, organization, planning, measuring results, consistency, team building, thinking win-win, keeping healthy and in balance, just to name a few of their success practices.

The definition of determine is to set limits, make a decision or find out exactly. An example of determination is the strength to keep building an entrepreneurial venture after being rejected by dozens of potential clients.

Determination is the inner strength that keeps you on track toward your goals. Determination can also help you to stay motivated and continue striving towards the one thing you want to achieve consistently. A person who is determined has a firmness of purpose and the resolve to achieve a goal. It is a fixed intention or resolution to overcome obstacles.  If there is a possibility, a determined person will work to achieve the goal.

A person who is determined comes from their point of strength, avoids distractions, becomes deeply committed and realigns their actions regularly. They commit to excellence and they do their best.

Self-determination is defined as the personal decision to do something or think a certain way. Self-determination involves many attitudes and abilities including self-awareness, assertiveness, creativity, pride, problem solving and self-advocacy skills. Determination is a powerful personal character trait where you are intent on achieving a goal.

Many people who want to lose weight need determination to keep going when faced with all sorts of tasty delights around then. Determination is needed for both personal goals and professional goals. We need to build a burning desire for the result we are looking for, detach from the outcome and be in the present moment.

One program I have been involved with that assists in creating structure and eliciting new success habits is The Master Key Experience. Using the Mastermind principle for accountability, this has helped me with my determination around my current goals. So, it really comes down to replacing old habits that aren’t working with new ones that are going to take you where you want to go.

If you can manage to turn determination into a regular habit, you are more likely to achieve the success you are looking for. If you need help with this, be sure to reach out.

To your success.
